Challenges     

To support sales for soup company, Eco Ladle, promoting food waste was an important way to draw in customers on its social media campaign.

Solution         

A 3-minute multimodal microlesson on food waste with interactivity and consumer-oriented tips was used on Facebook exclusively.

Designed and updated more than 35 courses and 300 e-learning modules for young adults and adult learners for education and corporate markets.  Create syllabi, courses, and e-learning modules:  write objectives from standards utilizing Bloom's and other taxonomies, and design course structures, content, learning aides, and formative and summative assessments adhering to research-based learning theories.

 

Challenges   

Engagement, mastery,  accessibility, and completion, access to online resources for marginalized young adults.  Multiple life demands by learners creates barriers to completion.

Monthly leadership and skills training with peers and administrators. Daily instruction to learners, both online and in-person. Learners generally do not want to be there and feel it is a waste of their time.

  • Conduct time-efficient training, engage immediately and ensure clarity of goals, chunk content for attainment; embed collaboration and problem solving, delivery using technology or traditional means.

Challenge
A logistics company shifts to a virtual work environment and "old-school" sales representatives fail to embrace virtual sales tools, resulting in the loss of sales.

Solution
The goal was to overcome adult learner barriers of tech insecurity with microlessons, and appeal to learners' competitive natures with gamification, giving choice, job relevancy and practice this e-learning module succeeds in training 'old-school' sales reps with new virtual sales tools.

Annual Training Plan for Denver Food Bank

Southwest Denver Food Coalition

Challenge      

With little training capacity for overworked and underfunded non-profit staff with

enormous training needs, the Southwest Denver Food Coalition desperately needed professional development and workplace training for new staff and volunteers.

Solution

Organizational relationships could be leveraged to build a training capacity for the Southwest Denver Food Coalition. Therefore, the goal of this recommendation was to aid the organization in establishing a professional training capacity by leveraging relationships with other non-profits to share materials, trainers and online materials.
